Sports Premium
The primary school sports premium is used effectively. This is because teachers observe lessons taught by specialist teachers and use this to improve their own skills and practice. The school has increased the number of clubs available and plays a more active and successful part in local sports tournaments.

PE and Sport funding
Our Sport Premium funding has enabled us to improve the teaching and learning of PE lessons through high-quality continued professional development of teachers and the expert teaching of professional coaches who lead PE lessons from Reception through to Year 6 and who offer a vast range of extra-curricular sports clubs.
Pupils of APPS participate in numerous inter-school competitions - often achieving success. This offer continues to grow, for example the recent successful participation in a KS2 swimming gala and a football tournament run by Brentford FC for children within and across local boroughs.
This term, Year 2 and Year 5 have enjoyed the expert coaching skills of Surrey County Cricket Club through the Chance to Shine programme.
APPS has a wealth of quality sporting equipment which enables top-quality PE lessons to take place in addition to active lunchtimes and an exciting range of breakfast and after-school clubs.

Nelson Mandela
The government continues to provide additional funding to improve provision of physical education (PE) and sport in primary schools. This funding – provided jointly by the Departments for Education, Health and Culture and Media and Sport – will be allocated to primary schools.
This funding is ring-fenced and therefore can only be spent on provision of PE and sport in schools.
Purpose of funding
Schools must spend the additional funding on improving their provision of PE and sport, but they will have the freedom to choose how they do this.
